Arizona WR tears ACL

Austin Hill, who was Arizona's leading receiver last season, suffered a torn anterior-cruciate ligament and probably will miss the 2013 season, head coach Rich Rodriguez told reporters after Saturday's spring game.

It is the fourth time in the past three springs that an Arizona player has torn an ACL.

Hill led the team last year with 81 catches for 1,364 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was a second team All-Pac-12 selection.

Hill injured his leg trying to catch a pass last Wednesday.

Hill, who would be a fourth-year junior in 2013, redshirted in 2010, so he probably is not a candidate for a medical waiver.
