Argentina could be without Fernando Gago for the World Cup after the Boca Juniors man suffered a grade two sprain of his left knee in his side's 0-0 draw with Columbus.
The midfielder has already been ruled out of the rest of his club's domestic season after medical staff estimated a 60-day recovery time, ending two days prior to the Albiceleste's first game of the tournament.
The 28-year-old will spend the first two weeks of his rehabilitation with his leg immobilized in a splinter before embarking on a gradual recuperation program.
Gago has been a regular on the Argentina team sheet having made 46 appearances for his country since making his international bow in 2007.
