Antoine Winfield retiring

Cut by the Seattle Seahawks, veteran former Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield has decided to retire.

Winfield spent the majority of his career with the Minnesota Vikings.

Winfield, 36, played in the NFL for 14 seasons, including time with the Buffalo Bills. He was selected for three Pro Bowls.

"“Wishing Antoine Winfield the best in his decision to retire," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll wrote on Twitter. "He’s a consummate pro and a great team player. We were lucky to have him."
