Anthony, World Peace out for Knicks

AP - Sports

TORONTO (AP) -- The New York Knicks were without leading scorer Carmelo Anthony and forward Metta World peace for Saturday's game against the Raptors.

Anthony, who did not travel to Toronto, missed his third straight game with a sore left ankle. Coach Mike Woodson said he hoped to have Anthony back when the Knicks visit Texas next week for games at San Antonio, Houston and Dallas.

''If he can't run and jump because of his ankle, he needs to nurse it back and get it ready to go and then he'll let us know,'' Woodson said.

Anthony was injured in Monday's win at Orlando and has since sat out home losses to Oklahoma City and Toronto. The NBA's second-leading scorer, he's averaging 26.3 points this season and has led the Knicks in scoring in every game he's played.

World Peace returned in Friday's loss to Toronto after missing three games with a sore left knee, but re-aggravated the injury in a five-minute appearance.
