Anthony Davis scored 32 points and added 17 rebounds to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a close victory over the Denver Nuggets, 111-107. The Pelicans shot 41-90 (45.6%) from the field and controlled the offensive glass with 18 rebounds. New Orleans (26-37) has now won three straight.
Davis finished 10-20 from the field and 12-16 from the free throw line. He also tallied 6 blocks and 3 assists. Austin Rivers also contributed for New Orleans, finishing with 13 points and 5 assists. Despite the loss, Kenneth Faried put up 22 points for Denver on 9-12 shooting from the field and 4-6 from the free throw line. He also registered 14 rebounds. Ty Lawson added 15 points and 12 assists, Wilson Chandler finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and J.J. Hickson put up 12 points and 9 rebounds.
This drops Denver (27-35) to 1-2 versus New Orleans on the season.
