Anthony Davis scored 27 points and recorded 10 rebounds, his 22nd double-double of the season, to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a close victory over the Atlanta Hawks, 105-100. New Orleans (21-27) picked up the win after falling to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
Davis went 9-14 from the field and 9-10 from the free throw line, in a solid performance. Brian Roberts also contributed for New Orleans, finishing with 19 points and 6 assists. Paul Millsap had another big game for Atlanta despite the loss, scoring 26 points on 10-20 shooting, including 3-7 from behind the arc. He also tallied 10 rebounds. DeMarre Carroll added 22 points and 7 rebounds and Jeff Teague finished with 11 points and 13 assists.
Atlanta (25-23) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Indiana on Tuesday.
Coming up, the Pelicans square off with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are 24-25 on the season. The Hawks match up with the Memphis Grizzlies, currently sitting at 26-22 this year. The Pelicans came up short against Minnesota each of the last two times they've met. The Hawks have a 0-1 record against Memphis this season.
