Anibal Sanchez: Agrees to Five-Year Deal With Tigers
Update: The Tigers signed Sanchez to a five-year, $80 million contract Friday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Recommendation: Sanchez appeared to be on the cusp of signing with the Cubs not 24 hours previous, but the Tigers came back with more money to keep him in their rotation. While a move back to the NL likely would have boosted Sanchez's strikeout rate, he should have a comfortable spot in Detroit as the Tigers' No. 3 starter behind Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer.
