Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is scheduled to sit out Monday's game because of a sore right pinkie finger. It's the first time he hasn't started a game since May 7. Trout jammed the pinkie while sliding headfirst into second base on Sunday. He hit a home run later in the game, but his finger was sore Monday. Trout, 20, is listed as day to day, and manager Mike Scioscia told reporters he does not expect Trout to need X-rays. Trout was named as a reserve for the upcoming All-Star Game, and he entered Monday's action leading the American League in batting average (.339) and steals (22). He also has nine homers. On Monday, Trout was named AL Rookie of the Month for the second straight month.
