Recommendation: It sounds like Bynum prefers a one-year deal if, as expected, no team will commit to him for more than one or two years at a high price. The Cavaliers would be in excellent position going forward if they could sign Bynum without any commitment after the 2013-14 season, but Bynum is hoping to revive his value for one year before cashing in with a long-term contract next summer. Reports indicate that he will visit the Hawks (and possibly other teams) before making a decision. Should the Cavs sign Bynum, the team would potentially have a crowded frontcourt with Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, and Anthony Bennett also in the picture. Some of the logjam can be alleviated when Bennett plays small forward, but perhaps the Cavs would finally find a way to trade Anderson Varejao after three years of rumors.
