Andray Blatche came off the bench and posted his fourth double-double this season, scoring 19 points and registering 12 rebounds, to help the Brooklyn Nets cruise past the New York Knicks, 103-80. Blatche finished 9-12 from the field (1-3 on 3-point attempts) in what was an efficient performance. Joe Johnson also contributed for Brooklyn, finishing with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had another strong game for New York despite the loss, putting up 26 points on 8-19 shooting (2-4 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 8-13 from the free throw line. He also registered 12 rebounds.
Despite committing the second-fewest errors in the NBA (TO% of 13.1%), the Knicks struggled with 16 turnovers against a Nets defense that causes the third-most (opponents' TO% of 27.4%). The Knicks had an eFG% of just 39.4% paired with a poor TO% of 17.7. They are winless (0-3) this season when turning the ball over on more than 17% of their possessions while also failing to eclipse 45% in eFG%. From a defensive perspective, the Nets are undefeated (3-0) when forcing such performances from their opponents.
New York (15-26) has now lost four straight.
