Here's more evidence that UFC Champion Anderson Silva is as much of a superstar in the world of lights, camera, action as he is in the octagon. Anderson is on the cover of the "Rolling Stone" dressed in Michael Jackson, the King of Pop's iconic gear.
Anderson's got moves--for the dance floor. He's so comfortable and having so much fun in front of the camera. "Making of - Anderson Silva" video
How can you not like Anderson Silva?
Versatility has to be Anderson's new middle name. He is remarkably charismatic without having to say a word. Check him out on stage dancing with teen pop star, Justin Bieber during a concert in Brazil in 2011 video
In my opinion, Anderson is the perfect UFC champion, spokesperson and role model.
On the other hand, Chael Sonnen is the loudest, best trash-talker of all of the fighters on the current UFC roster. I would love to see some kind of video showing Chael in a different mode--outside of his role as a cage fighter.
UFC 148 on July 7th can't get here fast enough
I remember wondering whether Anderson was going to lose to Chael during that last match. He very nearly did.
This time he has even more pressure with his honor--and his country's honor on the line-- after suffering so many insults from Chael.
Brazil is an unfriendly place where Chael is concerned--the fight had to be moved because there were concerns about keeping the abrasive fighter safe.
If Anderson stays focused without getting emotionally entangled in Chael's barbs--and if he comes out fighting instead of doing his normal minute or two of studying his opponent, Chael might not get out of the early rounds. I don't think Anderson wants to spend another four rounds dealing with Chael. As much as I'm a big fan of Anderson Silva, I don't underestimate Chael's ability to knock out the champion from Brazil.
Other UFC fighters don't have kind words for Chael
On Twitter, @bloodyelbow is reporting, "UFC Quick Quote - Wanderlei Silva To Chael Sonnen: 'F*** You, Man' and @MMAWeekly tweeted, "Michael Bisping Says He's Got Chael Sonnen 'Quaking in His Boots'.
You gotta love Chael for stirring up controversy and keeping life interesting.
I don't think Chael can dance like Anderson though. Those smooth moves might be what tips the balance on July 7th at UFC 148.
