Anderlecht have brought Spartak Moscow midfielder Demy de Zeeuw to Belgium on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy him permanently in the summer.
The Dutchman will provide competition in the center of midfield at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, and while adding fuel to the speculation that the club will be offloading reported Arsenal transfer target Lucas Biglia during the January window.
De Zeeuw, 29, joined Spartak Moscow from Ajax in 2011 after three seasons with the Dutch powerhouse.
Anderlecht, which is the club of American midfielder Sacha Kljestan and currently has D.C. United right back Andy Najar on loan through the end of the month, is currently eight points clear at the top of the Jupiler League as it looks to secure back-to-back domestic titles and clinch another place in the UEFA Champions League.
