Alfonzo Dennard released from jail

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was released from a Nebraska jail over the weekend, according to a report from Boston.com.

Serving a 60-day sentence for assaulting a police officer, Dennard was able to leave the jail after 35 days due to good behavior.

Dennard was arrested for assaulting a police officer in 2012, before he was taken by New England in the fourth round of that year's draft. Given a 30-day sentence, Dennard saw his time increase after he was arrested for a DUI, to which he pleaded no contest for.

Dennard attended the University of Nebraska, where he wa a standout cornerback for the Cornhuskers.

In 2013, Dennard had 40 tackles and one interception for the Patriots.
