Alex Smith: Passes Concussion Tests

Update: Smith has passed his concussion tests this week and appears on track to start Monday against the Bears, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Recommendation: Smith was still sporting a non-contact jersey in practice Wednesday, and the team will surely keep an eye on him the rest of the week, but it's sounding like he'll be a go come Monday. Doctors have reportedly indicated to coach Jim Harbaugh that the hit that gave Smith a concussion may have been the one by Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar that came with 1:10 left in the first quarter. Smith stayed in the game following that hit, and completed his next five passes, including a touchdown to Michael Crabtree, before ultimately leaving.
