Alex Rodriguez: Expected To Enter Spring Training As Everyday Third Baseman

Rotowire.com
Update: Yankees manager Joe Girardi says that Rodriguez will enter spring training as his everyday third baseman, ESPN New York reports.

Recommendation: Though the Yankees would undoubtedly be amenable to trading Rodriguez if they could find a suitor willing to take on the bulk of his massive contract, Rodriguez is likely still the best option at third base for the team from a performance standpoint. Though much was made about his 3-for-25 postseason batting numbers that ultimately led to his benching, Rodriguez still batted .272/.353/.430 with 18 home runs in 529 plate appearances. Though he's far from the elite player he once was, he's still likely an above-average third baseman in baseball when healthy.
