Alex Rodriguez: A "Chance" He Could Miss Entire Season

Update: Yankees GM Brian Cashman said Friday that there's a "chance" Rodriguez (hip) could miss the entire 2013 season, the New York Post reports. "Yeah, I think because of the serious nature of the surgery and the condition he's trying to recover from, ya know, there is that chance," Cashman said Friday regarding whether Rodriguez could miss the entire season. "I would say it's not going to be because Alex doesn't do everything in his power to put himself in a position to get back and be healthy and productive"

Recommendation: Rodriguez underwent successful surgery last week, and while Cashman doesn't think Rodriguez missing the entire season is a likely scenario, he did admit that it's a possibility. If everything goes smoothly, it's expected that Rodriguez should be back with the team in July, but Cashman said there are "unique circumstances" in this case, namely the small history of the injury and limited number of doctors trained to treat such an ailment.
