MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- DeMarcus Robinson scored 17 points, all in the first half, and led four teammates in double-figure scoring as Alabama State defeated NAIA Mobile 88-58 on Wednesday night.
The Hornets (1-2) shot 57 percent from the field with Bobby Brown and Terrance LeFlore coming off the bench to add 14 and 11 points, respectively, and Maurice Strong added 10.
With Alabama State leading by 12 at halftime, Mobile's Julien Sargent scored eight to open the second half, but the Rams (1-2) could only get as close as 55-44. Cody Scott led Mobile with 13 points and Sargent finished with 12.
Alabama State hit 34 of 60 shots from the field, forced 19 turnovers and out-rebounded Mobile 35-26. The Hornets also blocked four shots - two by Brandon Graham and one each from Strong and Luther Page.
