Al Jefferson put up his 2nd double-double this season, scoring 23 points and registering 12 rebounds, to help the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 92-76. Charlotte (8-9) gets one in the win column after losing to Indiana on Wednesday.
Jefferson finished 11-18, in a solid outing. Other top contributors for Charlotte included Gerald Henderson with 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Kemba Walker with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Despite the loss, Brandon Knight put up 17 points for Milwaukee on 7-11 shooting, including 1-3 from behind the arc.
As expected, the Bucks offense did not have its best game, struggling to score against the top-notch Bobcats defense that ranks second in the league with a defensive efficiency of 96.8. They registered just 0.799 points per possession in this game, and rank 29th in the NBA with an offensive efficiency of 93.0 on the season. In addition to 29.4% from 3-point range, the Bucks tallied an eFG% of just 36.3%. They are winless (0-2) on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Bobcats, conversely, are undefeated (4-0) when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Milwaukee (2-13) has now dropped their last 11 in a row.
Coming up next, the Bobcats play the Miami Heat, who are 13-3 on the year. The Bucks match up with the Boston Celtics, currently 7-11 this season. The Bobcats are 0-1 versus Miami this season. The Bucks have a 1-0 record against Boston this season.
