Al Jefferson scored 24 points and added 10 rebounds, his 18th double-double of the season, to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to a close victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, 95-91. Charlotte (19-25) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Toronto Raptors on Monday.
Jefferson finished 12-23 from the field. Charlotte also got solid performances from Josh McRoberts with 13 points and 8 rebounds, Gerald Henderson with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Ramon Sessions with 10 points and 8 assists. Blake Griffin had another big game for Los Angeles despite the loss, scoring 27 points on 11-20 shooting from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. He also tallied 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
This drops Los Angeles (29-15) to 1-1 versus Charlotte on the season.
Coming up next, the Bobcats square off against the New York Knicks, who are 15-26 on the year. The Clippers match up against the Chicago Bulls, currently 21-20 this season. The Bobcats won two of their last three games against New York. The Clippers have a 1-0 record against Chicago this season.
