Royston Drenthe has agreed upon a deal to join Championship side Reading, his agent has confirmed.
Drenthe, who spent the 2011-12 season on loan at Everton, will sign a three-year deal to return to English football at the Madejski Stadium. The Dutchman's representative, Fabian Veldwijk, revealed his client is excited at the prospect of joining the Royals as they bid to make an instant return to the Premier League.
“The contract has been signed,” Veldwijk told NUsport. “A few small things have to be arranged before it's official.
“He has a good feeling with the club and wants to play in England.”
Drenthe rose to prominence at Feyenoord but has endured a nomadic career since, including spells with Real Madrid, Hercules, Everton and Russian minnows Alania Vladikavkaz.
