The agent for Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said Brown is waiting to learn his fate with the franchise and is uncertain when a decision will be made.

Warren LeGarie, who represents Brown, said he spoke on Friday with Cavs general manager Danny Ferry, who told him the team hadn’t reached a decision on Brown’s future. Cavs owner Dan Gilbert told reporters in Cleveland that team officials would evaluate Brown over the next week to 10 days, but dodged questions on whether Brown would be back next season.

“To the best of my knowledge there has been no decision made,” LeGarie said.

Brown has compiled a 272-138 record in five seasons with the Cavaliers. The 2009 Coach of the Year also led the team to the playoffs in each of those seasons, including an NBA Finals appearance in 2007. The Cavs, however, have fallen short during the playoffs the past two seasons, losing to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals last year before being eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the second round on Thursday.

Brown still has one year left on his contract.

“It wouldn’t be his decision to leave,” LeGarie said. “Mike never gives up on any fight.”
