Aaron Brooks scored 27 points and recorded 17 assists and 6 rebounds in a spectacular all-around effort to lead the Denver Nuggets to a victory over the Detroit Pistons, 118-109. The Nuggets took quality shots in this game, finishing 44-86 (51.2%). Denver (31-37) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.
Brooks shot 10-19 (1-5 from three-point range) and 6-7 from the free throw line. Denver also got solid performances from Randy Foye with 22 points and 5 rebounds, Kenneth Faried with 15 points and 8 rebounds, and J.J. Hickson with 11 points and 11 rebounds. On 9-12 shooting from the field and 4-9 from the free throw line, Greg Monroe scored 22 points for Detroit in the loss. Will Bynum contributed 12 points and 10 assists.
Along with their eFG% of 57.6%, the Nuggets connected at a rate of 40.7% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 12-2 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Pistons are 1-10 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
