79-year-old Donna Tucker had one heck of a day at West Virginia’s football facilities Wednesday.

Tucker, who has lung cancer, was recently told that the cancer was growing so quickly that she may only have 6-8 weeks to live. A huge West Virginia fan, Tucker had attended games at Milan Puskar Stadium before. But she had never been on the field.

That changed Wednesday. After her granddaughter posted to Facebook that she wanted to help her grandmother achieve one last goal, the plans were put into motion to get Tucker to the stadium.

Tucker got to meet more than a half-dozen West Virginia players and set foot on the field. She even got to hang out in the film room.

From the Dominion Post:

After a few pictures with the Mountaineers’ 2015 Cactus Bowl trophy, Tucker was brought to the 50 yard line, on top of the new, bigger Flying WV logo, for more pictures with her WVU heroes.

On the big screen at the south end zone, a message read, “West Virginia Football welcomes Donna Tucker, a lifelong Mountaineer fan.” On all of the ribbon boards surrounding the stadium, Tucker’s name was scripted.

Pretty damn cool.
