76ers confident despite Game 7 odds
The Philadelphia 76ers have given themselves a chance. By outlasting the Celtics 82-75 in Game 6 Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center, they get to play Game 7 Saturday in Boston.
They lack the experience -- not to mention home-court advantage -- of the Celtics. But in a series in which no team has won consecutive games, they're going to take their best shot at TD Garden.
"It's definitely a great feeling," said guard Evan Turner. "It'll be a great experience. I don't think any of us young guys have been in a Game 7."
Indeed, only Elton Brand (2006 second-round loss at Phoenix) has been in a Game 7 among Doug Collins' nine regulars. But Collins doesn't want to give his team "that out" of using youth as a potential excuse.
"I want more," Collins said. "We're going to get greedy. We've fought, we've worked, we've gone through a lot as a team and we've grown."
The home team has won 79.6 percent of Game 7s in NBA history. Those numbers don't scare the Sixers, according to them.
"Winner moves on -- loser goes home," said guard Lou Williams. "We feel like we have just as good a chance as they do."
