49ers WR Kyle Williams will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL suffered in Sunday’s win over the Saints.
“Regret to inform yall I will be out for the season with a torn (ACL)…,” Williams tweeted. “Not how I saw things playing out but in the end I will be fine and this is just another obstacle I will have to climb to get back. Looking forward to the challenge!! Love all true fans your prayers are much appreciated.”
This season, Williams has 13 kickoff returns for 353 yards (27.2-yard average) and four punt returns for 52 yards. He is sixth on the team with 14 catches for 212 yards and one touchdown.
Ted Ginn will handle the return duties going forward, and Williams’ injury could open the door for the 49ers to use first-round WR A.J. Jenkins, who has yet to be active this season.
