49ers Suffer 42-17 Defeat Against Broncos
The 49ers were pounded by the Broncos, 42-17, in Denver.
Colin Kaepernick finished 24 for 39 with 263 yards, one touchdown and one pick. For the Broncos, Peyton Manning wound up 22 for 26 with 318 yards passing, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Frank Gore rushed for 20 yards on nine carries. Stevie Johnson was a leading receiver, hauling in five passes for 79 yards with a score.
The San Francisco defense allowed 115 yards rushing and 318 passing. They sacked Manning two times.
Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas had a big game, putting up 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Running back Ronnie Hillman was also solid with 74 rushing yards, 29 receiving and two touchdowns.
The 49ers are at home to take on the Rams (2-4) next week while the Broncos will meet the Chargers (5-2), also at home.
