49ers sign CB Reaser, QB Johnson

The San Francisco 49ers signed fifth-round draft pick Keith Reaser to a four-year deal and veteran quarterback Josh Johnson to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

The 49ers also announced that they waived defensive tackle Christian Tupou.

Reaser, a defensive back and the second of the 49ers' two fifth-round selections last week, started 32 games for Florida Atlantic during his college career and had 158 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five interceptions and one fumble recovery. He played in only five games as a senior after suffering a knee injury.

Johnson was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday after one season with the team. The 27-year-old spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also was with the 49ers in training camp in 2012 and joined the Cleveland Browns at the end of that season.

In 29 career games, Johnson has completed 96 of 177 passes for 1,042 yards and five touchdowns. He played college football at the University of San Diego under Jim Harbaugh, who is now the 49ers' coach.

Tupou had signed a reserve/futures contract with the 49ers on Jan. 22.
