49ers promote Ferguson

The San Francisco 49ers promoted Jeff Ferguson to Vice President of Football Operations, the team announced Thursday.

Ferguson has been with the organization since 2006. For the past two seasons, he's served as the Director of Football Operations and Sports Medicine, overseeing the team's sports medicine, strength and conditioning, team logistics, grounds keeping, equipment and video operations departments.

"Jeff does an excellent job of managing our football operations," 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "With Jeff's leadership we have built a strong, cohesive group that provides excellent services for our players and coaches."
