The St. Louis defense had no answer for Vernon Davis as he led the way to a solid victory for the 49ers over the Rams, 23-13, at home.
Colin Kaepernick completed the game 19 for 28 with 275 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions. Kellen Clemens went 19 of 37 with 218 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick for the Rams.
Frank Gore rushed for 42 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown with one fumble. Davis was a highlight, pulling in four passes for 82 yards with a touchdown.
The San Francisco defense was the major reason for the victory, giving up 114 yards rushing and 218 passing. They brought down Clemens for three sacks.
Finally, Phil Dawson was perfect, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts.
Rams tight end Jared Cook put up 49 receiving yards. Wide receiver Brian Quick also had a good game with 41 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The 49ers are at home to take on the Seahawks (10-1) next week while the Rams travel to Glendale to meet the Cardinals (7-5).
