NFL on Yahoo Sports:

49ers' Goldson gets hit with another fine

The SportsXchange

San Francisco safety Dashon Goldson's hard hit on New England tight end Aaron Hernandez last Sunday night apparently will cost him.

Goldson said Friday that he received notification from the NFL of a $21,000 fine for the tackle. He plans to appeal, reported.

Officials flagged Goldson for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after a midair collision with Hernandez, who was turning to make a catch in the 49ers' 41-34 overtime victory. Goldson celebrated after the play.

The sixth-year pro has a reputation for vicious hits and receiving fines from the league. Earlier fines this year include $7,875 for a late hit on St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford on Dec. 2 and the same amoung for taunting after a tackle on Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch in October

"I don't have time to sit there and dictate in the timespan I have as a football player when I'm on the football field to dictate what's a clean and what's a not-so-clean hit," Goldson said, according to "I'm not a dirty player. And that's just that."

News of the fine comes during the 49ers' preparations for a key NFC West game with Seattle (9-5) on Sunday night. A win would give San Francisco (10-3-1) the division title.
