49ers Fall to Cardinals, 23-14
Michael Crabtree had a big day for the offense, but it was not enough to avoid a defeat for the 49ers against the Cardinals, 23-14, at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Colin Kaepernick went 29 for 37 for 245 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions. Drew Stanton finished 18 for 33 with 244 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Cardinals.
Frank Gore gained 10 yards on six carries. Crabtree was a leading receiver, hauling in 10 balls for 80 yards with a score.
The San Francisco defense surrendered 84 yards rushing and 254 passing.
Cardinals wide receiver John Brown was impressive, churning out 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Michael Floyd was also solid with 114 receiving yards.
The 49ers are at home to take on the Eagles (3-0) next week while the Cardinals travel to Denver to meet the Broncos (2-0).
