The San Francisco 49ers don't expect Michael Crabtree to be charged due to an incident that resulted in an investigation of an alleged sexual assault last week and the wide receiver is expected to play in Sunday's NFC Championship Game at Atlanta. San Francisco police said Crabtree, with an attorney present, has cooperated with the investigation, the Sacramento Bee reported. Crabtree also promised to be available for further questioning. The alleged incident took place at a San Francisco hotel early the morning of Jan. 13, several hours after the 49ers' 45-31 victory over the Green Bay Packers. A second female witness backed up Crabtree's version of the events and a 49ers source told ESPN.com that he "highly, highly doubted the wide receiver would face any charges. Crabtree finished the regular season with a career-high 1,105 receiving yards. The team did promote wide receiver Chad Hall from the practice squad Saturday, but Crabtree will play against the Falcons.
