Moving on from yesterday’s potential day two or three selection in offensive guard Jermaine Eluemunor, today, we take a look at a player that could be a day two or three selection for the Miami Dolphins in Texas A&M defensive end Daeshon Hall.

Background

Playing understudy to likely number one overall pick Myles Garrett during his time with the Aggies, Daeshon Hall is not someone fans and teams should sleep on. Despite only playing one year as a defensive lineman, Hall has all of the mesurables that coaches look for. Despite not being a sack machine, he played admirably in his role as second fiddle.

Recording 14 sacks over his three years of main playing time, Hall is not going to be a world beating defensive lineman. That said, he is someone that the Miami Dolphins could mold into a capable role player and future replacement for defensive end Cameron Wake.

Strengths

Experience playing as both an outside linebacker and defensive end makes him versatile. For a Miami Dolphins team that needs depth and talent at both positions, this makes him a player the team could add to either unit. His quickness will allow him to break through gaps and disrupt plays.

Extremely coordinated when it comes to hand-eye movement, Hall has shown the ability to break through double teams and disrupt plays. Also an extremely tough hustle player, Hall is someone that cane never be counted out on any given play due to his drive and determination.

Weakness

Only one year playing along the defensive line does have its issues. Many could tell last season that Hall was still coming to terms with his positional change. Struggled to shed blocks and was often times bumped off the play when contacted by blockers. Adding weight has not yet equaled added strength.

Will need to learn the basics of the position once he enters the NFL. Carries pad level too high and opens himself up to some easy blocking. Added weight since becoming a defensive end has seen him lose a bit of quickness. Will need to prove and grow his toughness at the next level if he is to succeed.
