2012 NFL Schedule for Week Three: Fan's Opinion

Yahoo Contributor Network

Week two of the 2012 NFL schedule is officially in the books. My New York Giants finally got into the win column so I'm pretty happy about that. It wasn't looking too good there for a while. And to top it off, I went 10-6 picking games last week. All in all it was a good football week for me.

So, enough about week two. Let's take a look at what week three has to offer us. Here are my week three picks:

New York Giants @ Carolina Panthers:

I can't think of a better way to start off the week than with my Giants. The Giants are usually a better road team than a home team, go figure. But the Giants are really banged up right now and it's a short week for them. I'm picking with my heart here and I'm taking the G-Men. Giants win 27-24.

Steve Smith highlights

St. Louis Rams @ Chicago Bears:

Jay Cutler and the Bears looked awful in last week's contest against the Green Bay Packers. The St. Louis Rams shocked me last week when they beat the Washington Redskins. What does all this mean? I don't know but I'm taking the Bears here. Cutler gets back on track and the Bears win this game 28-17.

Brian Urlacher highlights

Buffalo Bills @ Cleveland Browns: Both of these teams are not that good and this game does nothing for me. Except that I have C.J. Spiller on my fantasy team and I want to see him run all over the Browns. Anyway, I digress. I'll take the Browns here for no other reason than they're at home. Browns win a close one 28-27.

C.J. Spiller highlights

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys - It kills me to do this but I'm going to have to pick the Cowboys here. They got dominated last week in Seattle which, by the way, I picked that game right. Did you? No. Anyway, I think Dallas bounces back here and wins their home opener. Give me the Cowboys 31-21.

Tony Romo highlights

Detroit Lions @ Tennessee Titans:

I'm not sure what has happened to Titans running back Chris Johnson but he looks awful. And that bodes well for the Lions. They got lit up by Frank Gore last week so maybe their run defense catches a break. I think it does and I'm taking the Lions to win this one 24-16.

Matthew Stafford mic'd up

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts: The Jags are a terrible team. I really feel bad for Maurice Jones-Drew. Poor guy. In any case, I think the Colts are not as terrible and Andrew Luck is starting to find his groove I think. I'm taking the Colts here 20-14.

Reggie Wayne highlights

New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins:

Just as I predicted last week the Jets came back down to Earth. I wonder how many games before they name Tim Tebow as the starter? Maybe he gets more involved in the offense this week because Mark Sanchez is a terrible quarterback and the Jets need to score some points. With all that said give me the Jets 17-13.

Mark Sanchez gets picked

San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings:

I'm a believer in the 49ers. They may be the best team in the league right now. I don't see Adrian Peterson doing much here and if he gets shut down it's all over. I'm taking the 49ers to win big 31-16.

49ers highlights

Kansas City Chiefs @ New Orleans Saints: The Saints are going to win this week, right? Sure they are. The Chiefs are another terrible team and I think that New Orleans has a bit of frustration they may want to release. It's going to be a long day for the Chiefs. Saints win huge 45-10.

Drew Brees

Cincinnati Bengals @ Washington Redskins:

What do you think Robert Griffin III is going to do to the Bengals in Washington's home opener? I know. He's going to light it up. I thought the Bengals were going to be better than they have shown so far and I have a feeling the Redskins win this tilt going away. I'm taking the 'Skins and RG III 35-24.

RG III

Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals: This game is really intriguing to me. I'm still a bit shocked that the Arizona Cardinals went in to New England and knocked off the Patriots. Didn't see that one coming. Anyway, the Cards may be better than you think and I think I'm taking them in this game. I have the Cards winning this contest 23-21.

Larry Fitzgerald highlights

Atlanta Falcons @ San Diego Chargers:

I really dig what the Falcons are doing this year. After watching what they did to the Broncos on Monday Night this is an easy pick. I think the Falcons have too much firepower on offense and in the end they will come away with a win. Give me the Falcons 38-35 in a shoot-out.

Roddy White and Julio Jones highlights

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Oakland Raiders: This used to be a huge rivalry back in the day. Not so much anymore. However, the Raiders hold a 10-9 advantage in the all-time regular season meetings. After this game it will be an even 10-10. Give me the Steelers here in a close one 23-17.

Mike Tomlin wired

Houston Texans @ Denver Broncos:

The Houston Texans are one of the best teams in the league this year and I have them making a deep playoff run. On the other hand, Peyton Manning is now a Denver Bronco. Didn't he pretty much own the Texans back when he was in Indianapolis? I thought so. I think that trend continues here. I'm taking Manning and the Broncos 20-17.

New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens: Both teams are coming off of loses and this could be one of the best games of the week. There's something off about the Patriots this year and I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe they're still in shock about what my Giants did to them in last years Super Bowl? Whatever it is I'm not taking them here. Give me the Ravens 30-24.

Bill Belichick

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks: I took the Seahawks last week over the Cowboys and I'm going to ride that horse again this week and take them over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Seattle is a different beast when they're at home. That 12th man is a great equalizer. Give me the Seahawks 26-24.

Dylan Davis is an avid New York Giants fan and has grown up on New York Giants football. He's seen his G-Men win four Super Bowls and can't wait to see them win four more.
