The 2012 season has not gone down exactly as everyone expected over in the NFC South. To be fair, the Atlanta Falcons were a popular pick to be the cream of the NFC South crop, but outside of that it has been a bit shocking. The rapid descent of the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints was unexpected for this NFL football fan. Being a Panthers fan has been tough in 2012 thus far. Still, I do believe that the NFC South is the cream of the NFC crop overall and that it will show by the end of the season. Here is a look at the week six games along with my take on who will come out on top:
Oakland Raiders vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Raiders are the latest team to try to beat the Atlanta Falcons and you can ask the Panthers how tough that can be in Atlanta. Although the Panthers beat the Falcons for the majority of that game, the Falcons still managed to take it right out from under the Panthers. The Raiders are a team that will put up plenty of fight. They are a good rushing team and they manage to keep the game close with everyone as a rule. The Falcons are simply motoring along like the game is easy. In the end, this game should be a fairly easy Falcons victory. They have an awesome rushing attack and Matt Ryan is an MVP candidate so far.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Chiefs are simply a team that I can't get a good take on. One minute they are unable to move the ball at all and the next they are rushing for ridiculous chunks of yardage. I would actually put the Bucs in a similar situation. They are a bit better through the air in my view and I think that will make a big difference in this game. The Bucs defense is quick enough to give the Chiefs fits. Although it will be a tight one, the Bucs will win this by a touchdown or two.
Bye Weeks for Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints
Both the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints have a much needed rest week to prepare for a tough season moving forward. Both of them are sitting with one win and will be looking to make a major turnaround in week seven.
