The 2012 EA SPORTS Maui Invitational Tournament is a three-day early season invitational college basketball tournament held at Lahaina Civic Center, home of host Chaminade University, in Maui, Hawaii. Now in its 29th year, this tournament was inspired by a 1982 upset by Chaminade over Virginia, which many college basketball fans consider to be the greatest upset of all time.
In 2011, the tournament was won by the Duke Blue Devils. Previous winners of the tournament include the Connecticut Huskies (2010), Gonzaga Bulldogs (2009), and North Carolina Tar Heels (2008).
