IDPs in Week 4 of the NFL season had a great week of production. With 76 sacks, 32 interceptions, and seven defensive touchdowns, team defenses as a whole kept 13 teams to 20 points or less this week. With a huge pool of players to choose from in IDP leagues, here are the top 10 IDP scorers from Week 4.
7 (tied). S Adrian Wilson, Arizona Cardinals - 13.00
Week 4 statistics: 8 solo tackles, 2 assist tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble
After missing last week's game, Wilson made his presence felt with plays all over the field. A veteran who has been a very good pass rusher and blitzer over the years, a healthy Wilson could make him a decent IDP option.
7 (tied). S Jairus Byrd, Buffalo Bills - 13.00
Week 4 statistics: 5 solo tackles, 4 assist tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery
Byrd was a huge contributor in the Bills' early success against the New England Patriots. From his two forced fumbles to his other tackling contributions, he looks like a solid IDP option this season.
7 (tied). LB/S Bryan Scott, Buffalo Bills - 13.00
Week 4 statistics: 8 solo tackles, 6 assist tackles, 1 fumble recovery
Bryan's teammate and fellow occasional secondary partner, Scott had 14 total tackles in Week 4 after only four tackles in the first three games. With two interceptions earlier in the year, he could be a solid IDP option if he could consistently tackle and force turnovers in the same game.
7 (tied). LB Lavonte David, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 13.00
Week 4 statistics: 12 solo tackles, 2 assist tackles
A second-round pick from this year's draft, David had his best game of his young career with 14 total tackles. Looking like a solid tackling machine in Tampa Bay, the rookie could be a nice and consistent IDP.
5 (tied). LB/DE Cameron Wake, Miami Dolphins - 13.50
Week 4 statistics: 4 solo tackles, 1 assist tackle, 4.5 sacks
After zero sacks over his first three games, Wake had a breakout game with a career-high 4.5 sacks on Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb. While his greatest asset is his ability to rack up sacks, it is tough to rely on a player who cannot consistently rack up tackles as well.
5 (tied). CB Charles Tillman, Chicago Bears - 13.50
Week 4 statistics: 4 solo tackles, 1 assist tackle, 1 interception, 1 touchdown
Tillman was a huge part of the Bears' Monday night success with his first interception of the season and sixth interception touchdown of his career. As one of the most reliable cornerbacks in the league, this veteran is always a solid IDP option and is definitely worth a start in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
3 (tied). DE Charles Johnson, Carolina Panthers - 14.00
Week 4 statistics: 6 solo tackles, 2 assist tackles, 3.5 sacks
With just eight tackles this season, Johnson had a great showing in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. From sacking Matt Ryan many times to being a force in stopping the run game, this could be the game that propels him to higher IDP status.
3 (tied). S Danieal Manning, Houston Texans - 14.00
Week 4 statistics: 5 solo tackles, 1 interception, 1 touchdown
Manning was great in Week 4 with his first career touchdown. In his second year with the Texans, he has become a leader of this top defense.
2. LB Donald Butler, San Diego Chargers - 15.00
Week 4 statistics: 4 solo tackles, 2 assist tackles, 0.5 sacks, 1 interception, 1 touchdown
Butler had a complete game in Week 4 with a nice number of tackles, a part of a sack, his first interception of the year, and a touchdown to boot. With 29 tackles on the year, he is a constant contributor on defense that can do a little bit of everything.
1. LB Lance Briggs, Chicago Bears - 17.00
Week 4 statistics: 6 solo tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 1 touchdown
Another Chicago defender who had their way with Tony Romo, Briggs' interception return for a touchdown was the turning point of the game. One of the top linebackers in the league for many seasons, he continues to be a reliable IDP producer.
