2012 Cleveland Browns Draft Needs: Fan Reaction

It is no secret that the Cleveland Browns basically need every position and a prayer to do well this season. However, it will be hard to do worse than 4-12. We will concentrate on just a few of the positions that need filled and this will be those that the Browns need most desperately.

    Quarterback

The Browns have been lacking at this position for quite some time. I personally think they need to show Colt McCoy the door because he has had a few seasons now to show what he can do and the only thing he has showed us is interceptions and over thrown passes. If the Browns go the quarterback route - and I think they will with the fourth pick - they should plan on snatching up Robert Griffin III. He will likely be picked up before the Browns get a shot at him, but they still need to keep him in their sights.

    Wide Receiver

The receiving talent - or lack thereof - on this team is in serious need of help. Greg Little is the team's best and he is mediocre at best. The Browns should look at Justin Blackmon. I have been a fan of his since this year's draft has started being talked about. He is a solid player that will likely quickly develop and be an asset to this team.

    Running Back

It is no secret that I did not like Peyton Hillis, but without him, we need to get a power player in this position. The Browns need to go for a combination of power and speed to make this position truly effective. I am a big Chris Ogbonnaya, but he still needs to develop. Plus, while he is fast, he is not a big guy so he lacks some power. Trent Richardson fits the description of both speed and power. He reminds me a bit of Emmitt Smith and this is something the Browns definitely need.

    Right Tackle

Our offensive line is actually quite good. Joe Thomas even made it to the Pro Bowl, but the right side of this line could use some work. For this position, the Browns should consider Matt Kalil. In Southern California, he played the left tackle position, but he also has experience on the right side of the line. Because of this, he would be able to quickly adapt and fill in the huge gap at right tackle.

    Cornerback

Morris Claiborne is arguably the best cornerback in this year's draft. This position has been lacking since the days of Frank Minnifield and Hanford Dixon. The Browns should probably use their early picks to get this team an actual offense, but they have to make sure not to neglect the defense.
