With March Madness in full swing, we decided to do a TV-themed bracket of our own: a no-holds-barred tournament to determine the best TV theme song of all time. After lots of heated debate, we've selected and ranked 32 of the most memorable TV theme songs ever, pitting them against each other in a winner-takes-all bracket. Over the next few weeks, we're asking you to vote for your favorite theme songs until we get a winner -- and a few songs stuck in your heads.
(6) "Three's Company"
"Three's Company" was more than a sitcom; it was a hilarious comedy of errors that made superstars of John Ritter, Suzanne Somers, and Joyce DeWitt. Just as memorable as the trio's antics -- which took place in a Santa Monica, California, apartment building -- was the series' opening theme song, called both "Three's Company, Too" and "Come and Knock on Our Door." The ditty was written by Joe Raposo, who also composed one of the most iconic theme songs of all time: "Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street?"
(11) "Beverly Hills, 90210"
If you think that three's a crowd, maybe you'd rather hang with the cool kids in another California zip code. From the spandex to the scrunchies to the increasingly outrageous plot points, there's no question that beloved '90s teen drama "Beverly Hills, 90210" was a pop-culture phenomenon. The opening credits to the hit series were recreated many times over the series' 10-year run; all versions were composed by John E. Davis, who also created the theme music for The CW's reboot "90210," and the 1980s police drama "T.J. Hooker." The awesomeness of the "90210" theme did not go overlooked; Entertainment Weekly named it the 15th best TV theme song of the past 25 years.
