'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' vs. 'Three's Company': Vote for the Best TV Theme Songs

The Fresh Prince tries to trip up Jack Tripper in Round 2 of Yahoo! TV's Theme Song Thunderdome.

Yahoo TV

With March Madness in full swing, we decided to do a TV-themed bracket of our own: a no-holds-barred tournament to determine the best TV theme song of all time. After lots of heated debate, we've selected and ranked 32 of the most memorable TV theme songs ever, pitting them against each other in a winner-takes-all bracket. Over the next few weeks, we're asking you to vote for your favorite theme songs until we get a winner -- and a few songs stuck in your heads.

(3) "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

This is only Round 2?!? How can two such epically amazing theme songs be facing off so early in the bracket? Well, nobody said this would be easy, so let's get to it: Will Smith whacked "The Sopranos" in Round 1 with his radio-friendly rap (they called it "rap" back then) about moving from West Philly to Bel-Air, and we still know every word by heart, twenty years later. We love so many things about this -- the spinning throne, the faux-graffiti credits, "Smell ya later" -- that it's hard to imagine voting against it. But then…

(6) "Three's Company"

… it's going up against the epitome of late-'70s cheese: "Come and Knock On Our Door," which clobbered "Beverly Hills, 90210" last round and perfectly set up the farcical shenanigans of Jack, Janet, and Chrissy. (And Cindy. And Terri.) Sure, the blondes came and went, but this song stuck around, bringing the swinging disco era to life for eight great seasons. Just hearing it makes us want to head down to the Regal Beagle for a piña colada. So if we have to choose (and we do), we're going with "Three's Company." But really, there's no wrong answer; we're all winners here.
