Scouting Report on Anthony Boyles

by Mike Farrell - 07/17/2006
Has good size for a wideout prospect and a ton of upside. He provides a big target for the quarterback and is dangerous after the catch. Boyles has very quick feet and accelerates well. He’s not afraid to go over the middle, although he needs to get more physical. Boyles shows excellent sideline recognition and concentration. He usually catches the ball out in front with his hands, although at times he lets it get too far into his body. Boyles adjusts to the football in the air very well and positions himself well for balls that hang in the air. He has the speed to stretch the field, but seems to lack that extra gear needed to pull away consistently after the catch. He’s a very good possession receiver who will be tough to handle as he adds more weight. He’s athletic enough to play safety on defense if needed, but he’s better with the ball in his hands.

Pac-10 Signing Day dream team02/08/2007 Rivals.com Football Recruiting

Just imagine the nightmares defensive coordinators would have if Joe McKnight played in the same backfield with Jahvid Best. The good news for Pac-10 coaches is that isn't a possibility. However, Rivals.com would select that backfield in its version of a Signing Day "Dream Team" for players that signed with Pac-10 schools. Check out the entire squad.
