Maddie Manning sat on Oklahoma's bench for the final 4 1/2 minutes of the first half, one of a multitude of Sooners who were struggling with their shots. Manning received the message. The senior guard scored 11 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter and No. 20 Oklahoma rallied for a 68-62 win over Oklahoma State on Sunday in the 100th women's basketball game between the Bedlam rivals.
Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw always wants to get Brianna Turner going inside no matter who the sixth-ranked Fighting Irish are playing. It certainly was a priority against a North Carolina team lacking much of a post presence. The 6-foot-3 junior had 24 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks to help the Fighting Irish beat the Tar Heels 77-55 on Sunday, a win that gave McGraw her 750th victory at the school.
Leticia Romero and No. 7 Florida State were already comfortably ahead. Romero scored 18 points, the Seminoles took the lead early and pulled away in an 82-54 victory over No. 17 Virginia Tech on Sunday. Shakayla Thomas added 17 points and Brittany Brown 13 for the Seminoles (19-2, 7-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who made 12 of 16 shots in outscoring the Hokies 27-14 in the third quarter to win their sixth in a row against ranked opponents.
