For two straight weeks, Purdue has dealt with a strange case of role reversal, as the defense has played above its typical standard while the offensive line dropped below.

The defense held Ohio State to 16 points one week after holding a powerful Penn State offense to 20. More impressive, the Buckeyes did not score an offensive touchdown. Purdue held the Buckeyes to no gain or negative yardage on 22 of 56 snaps, a remarkable feat considering the Buckeyes threw just four incomplete passes.

The two games should be a sign of a defense perhaps reaching a breakthrough after ranking last in the Big Ten in most defensive categories through the first half of the season.
