      <description>Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, kicked off LSU's national championship team after repeated off-the-field problems, signed Wednesday with Jacksonville State. Perrilloux will be able to transfer and start immediately for the Gamecocks. The MVP of last season's Southeastern Conference title game won't have to sit out a year because Jacksonville State plays in the lower Football Championship Subdivision.</description>

      <description>A judge reduced a felony charge to a misdemeanor against Murray State quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt, who pushed a campus police officer and took his ticket book. Ehrhardt pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Tuesday. He received a 90-day suspended sentence, must pay a $178 fine and perform 20 hours of community service work, according to Tona Steger of the Calloway County Attorney's Office.</description>

      <description>A University of Florida football player is recovering after being shot in the shoulder while at a Tampa area-park. Florida coach Urban Meyer says Gator defensive lineman Matt Patchan is expected to fully recover. Patchan was shot Friday night. Details of the shooting are not yet known. The 6-foot-7, 265-pound Patchan enrolled early at Florida in January after graduating from high school.</description>
