On the surface, it would appear that Pat Kennedy's rebuilding project at Towson stalled in its fourth year. The Tigers, who had progressed from 6 to 12 to 15 wins, slipped back to 12 victories. But this was something of a transition season.
In truth, Towson may have overachieved as it was picked to finish 12th in the conference in the preseason poll but finished ninth and won a game in the tournament before being eliminated by No. 1 VCU.
Three players proved to be huge additions and should make the Tigers formidable next year. Center Junior Hairston got to play after sitting out a season and immediately showed what he could do, scoring 26 points with 21 rebounds in his first game. ...More |
