Lyons will return for senior season (AP)

Missouri forward Leo Lyons, who led the Big 12 in field goal percentage, withdrew from the NBA draft on Thursday and announced he would return for his senior season. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Lyons made the decision after meeting with coach Mike Anderson and his staff, based on feedback from NBA teams as well as family and friends.

Missouri starters DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons declared for the NBA draft Thursday, though neither will hire an agent and could return to school. As long as they maintain their academic standing and withdraw their names by June 16, both would be eligible to return. Lyons was in and out of the starting lineup last season as a junior.

The Missouri season, it seems, could not end soon enough.

Off-court mishaps resulted in the suspensions of five players, as well as the dismissal of Stefhon Hannah, a point guard who was invaluable in the Tigers' attack.

The 16-16 finish, which included a first-round loss to Nebraska in the Big 12 Tournament, isn't a factor so much as the inability of coach Mike Anderson to establish control of this once-proud program and cut into all the turmoil.

Missouri remains a mess. Not only because of the off-court scuffles, but because Anderson never seemed to get a grasp on proper player rotations, especially after he dismissed Hannah.

It does appear Anderson is trying to gain some order.
