Georgia's 2007-08 season will be remembered always for the remarkable run in March that carried the Bulldogs to the SEC tournament championship and their first berth in the NCAA tourney since 2002.

Even though they bowed out after just one game, losing to third-seeded Xavier, the Bulldogs have to be happy with their comeback after finishing last in the SEC's Eastern Division.

By winning their second conference tourney title, and first since 1983, the Bulldogs put the memories of a frustrating year behind them.

The season started with Takais Brown and Mike Mercer, the top two returning scorers, dismissed from the team.

Later, Rasheed Singleton, a 7-foot junior, left after just 10 games when he was benched.

Georgia freshman Jeremy Jacob will transfer after a foot injury limited him to only six games as a freshman. Georgia coach Dennis Felton said Monday the 6-foot-7 Jacob, from Baton Rouge, La., wants a fresh start at another school "where he can play a more prominent role than he believes he will play at Georgia."
