      Another Test @ FSU

Last night was an impressive win for the Cards over Clemson especially when you consider that they did it without Q. Can they carry this into a big road win over FSU? It's not a must win by any stretch, but would really position the Cards well in the ACC, go a long way in perception and how this team is viewed nationally.

NCAA time demands rules ignore the biggest problem in the situation: the games

Before the Power Five passed some sensible rules Friday to loosen up athletes' time a little bit, some amendments were proposed by the adults. Some player representatives at the NCAA Convention weren't buying the amendments, recognizing how the system was trying to control days off for unpaid players who are supposedly students first. While learning life skills is great, the amendments symbolized college sports: Propose minutiae to control athletes' time while simultaneously legislating them more freedom. No athletic activities other than competition (and associated activities) over an eight-hour overnight period, such as from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Medical treatment in that window is still allowed.

Arizona guard Allonzo Trier cleared to play after passing drug test

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Athletic Department says it has received word that Allonzo Trier tested negative for a performance-enhancing drug in his latest test and will be eligible to play when the No. 13 Wildcats face No. 3 UCLA in Los Angeles on Saturday. The NCAA's blessing has long been awaited as Trier sat out the entire season, able to practice and travel with the team but unable to play in games. The school refused to say why Trier wasn't playing until the player released a statement this week saying he had inadvertently taken a substance with a trace amount of PED in it. He said the NCAA would not allow him to play until his system was completely cleared of the drug. BEST OF THE WEEK
