WASHINGTON (AP)—Samisha Powell scored 13 points and Georgetown came from behind to defeat No. 22 St. John’s 60-57 Tuesday night.

Faith Woodard and Logan Battle each scored 12 points and Natalie Butler added 14 rebounds for the Hoyas (9-18, 3-12 Big East), who ended the Red Storm’s 11-game winning streak and beat a ranked opponent for the first time since Nov. 11, 2012.

Amber Thompson scored 14 points and Aliyyah Handford and Briana Brown each added 13 for the Red Storm (19-6, 12-2), who hadn’t lost since Jan. 5 at Xavier. St. John’s had also beaten Georgetown four consecutive times. The Red Storm shot just 29 percent in the decisive second half.

After Georgetown’s Katie McCormick made two free throws with 9.9 seconds remaining, Eugeneia McPherson’s potential game-tying 3-pointer bounced off the back rim as time expired.
