Furman scored the game’s first seven points and soon after went on a 22-6 run to take a 31-14 lead with 4:32 left in the first half. But Georgia (4-0) then scored 26 straight points over the next 17 minutes to take a 40-31 lead. The Bulldogs never trailed after that.
Krista Donald had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Georgia and Khaalidah Miller added 12 points. Miller became the 35th player in program history to score 1,000 career points for the Bulldogs.
Furman (1-3) shot 44.4 percent in the first half before going just 6-of-25 from the field in the second. Georgia outscored the Paladins 44-14 in the paint and held a 45-30 advantage in rebounds. Erica Norwood led Furman with 14 points.
